Begrudgingly selling my mint 9422 XTR to meet the upcoming NSW firearms law amendments – I’d prefer to see it embark on a new life rather than being crushed in the buyback. I’m a collector rather than a shooter and in the twenty odd years I’ve owned it it’s been to the range for a plink three times & shot less than two packets of standard velocity rounds.
When the 9422 was introduced in the seventies Winchester were trying to recover their reputation following the cost reductions they’d implemented in the sixties so the 9422LR & 9422WMR were quality products. And with them being designed to accommodate the 22WMR pressures the 22LR version was significantly over engineered resulting in a high level of reliability. The XTR version came with a checkered walnut stock and deeper blued metalwork than the standard 9422.
The stock and metalwork on this rifle are unblemished and It’s fitted with a Nikko-Stirling Mount Master 4x32 scope which was typical of the 22 lever action scopes of the day. It still has the rear sight fitted so just requires the scope to be lifted off for open sight shooting. It comes with the original Winchester box and the price includes shipping to your nominated dealer in any capital city (excluding Perth). Email, text or call for more details or additional snaps on bagualprogeny@gmail.com or 0424096998. I’m doing some refurbishment works around the house at the moment so if you call me and I don’t answer either leave a message, text me or mail me. Bill
