Comment: Named English WW2 women's national fire service helmet. With a 1939 stamped shell and 1940 marked G & S liner the helmet is a forest green with a cream and red lined roundel painted on the helmets rim, the number "5" indicates the Bradford command area, the liner is intact and the chin strap is present in good condition, the original owners name "Phebbie White" has been written across the chin strap. With most fighting aged men enlisted in the armed forces British women were encouraged to take up positions on the home front including the national fire service and served a vital roll saving lives and property during the German "Blitz" on the United Kingdom. The helmet is in very good condition and a great piece of history. More photos available on request, Australia wide shipping is included in price.
