6mm Remington 40 degree Ackley Improved with 268 thou tight neck. Krieger 1 in 8 twist stainless steel barrel finished at 28 inches. Blueprinted Remington 700 right handed short action with G series serial number manufactured back when Remington still made good actions. Wyatt extended magazine box to fit 2.9 inch cartridge overall length. Timney trigger. Nikon 6-24x50 scope in Burris Signature Z rings with 20 MOA. Bell and Carlson stock with aluminium bedding block and picatinny bipod rail. Redding competition seater die, type S neck die with 266 thou titanium nitride bushing, full length die. 509 Hornady 87 grain VMax projectiles. 117 RWS, 102 Norma and 48 Remington fire formed cases. To prevent unnecessary erosion of the throat I bought a Howa 243 Win and had it rechambered in 6AI to fireform the cases, then the same reamer was used to chamber the Krieger barrel. It was my long range (over 300 metres) varmint rifle and it has only fired about 200 rounds and is in excellent condition. It shoots five shot groups of 0.25 MOA with any of the three types of brass I neck turned and fireformed (the RWS brass needs about two grains less of AR2213 than the Norma or Remington brass). The throat and barrel twist rate are also suitable for projectiles of 105 to 115 grains to really stretch out the range.
