We’ve never seen a Model 96 as nice as this one! In superb condition throughout, this Carl Gustav Mauser has been beautifully built by a professional — and it shows. From the lovely turned-down bolt handle and excellent trigger pull to the bedded action and floating barrel, it is spot on. The walnut stock is virtually blemish free and its chequering is sharp, speaking of the little work this rifle has done. The owner used it only at the range and developed handloads that, in his words, made it a “tack driver”. We have the load data to pass on as well as 25 handloads if they are picked up in the shop. He got 3050fps from a 140gn projectile, which makes you wonder why anyone would bother with 6.5CM (and this rifle doesn’t require a man-bun!). The rings are 30mm. Whether you want to hunt with a classic or continue its use on the range, this Model 96 will not disappoint!
