Remington Model 1875 Single Action Revolver I’m selling my rare and totally original Remington Model 1875 Frontier gun. Fully functional and shoots surprisingly accurately. This is an early model with the pinched front site and lanyard ring in the butt. Matching serial numbers on frame, trigger guard and loading gate. I also have a brand-new leather holster made by P.W Percival of Melbourne that I will sell separately for $150. There were only 25,000-30,000 units of this model produced from 1875-89. This one is an attractive-looking example in very good condition with 7-1/2" barrel, calibre 44-40, blued finish and wood grips...almost identical in appearance to the one Jesse James is known to have carried during the latter half of the 1870's. The 1875 was also carried by the Indian Police who killed Chief Sitting Bull in Dec, 1890 during a botched attempt to arrest the famous Sioux warrior. I have no providence on this revolver but guessing it may have been brought over from USA during the West Australian gold rush era of mid 1890s. Most were nickel plated, but this offering is the much harder to find blued version. The icing on the cake is that it is chambered in 44 WCF, and ammunition (.44/40) can be loaded with black powder.
