8 rnd single stack magazine; f. bore, rifling showing wear, grooves dark & dirty; thinning blued finish to metalwork, some areas of light pitting & oxidation staining; cypher over V.R., ENFIELD, 1891, I* marked to rhs of body socket; lhs & rhs of breech have had sets of markings/ proofs struck off; lhs of body socket marked with several different sets of numbers & markings; top of barrel marked LITHGOW; non matching bolt cycles smoothly, crisp trigger, retains mag. cut off; double sling swivels to barrel band, additional swivel to underside of action; flip up rear sight with 6 – 18 graduations, steel protective cover fitted to front sight; fitted with volley sights; steel buttplate with trap, brass screws; woodwork is sound, bearing several armourer's repairs, replacement sections, chip to handguard; stock marked with faint 3 over 485 to rhs, brass disc inlaid to rhs; woodwork bearing some handling marks & bruising; overall in fair wo & cond.
