Husqvarna 1640 in 30-06 . Long story - I originally purchased as a 270W in 1979 . Brother chequered stock , later sold it and then bought it back 10 years ago . In the meantime it was fitted with a new 30-06 barrel & the alloy bottom metal cerakoted . I fitted Timney adjustable trigger , Lyman receiver sight and N.E.C.G. front ramp with hood & detachable bead. Also had stock refinished and new recoil pad fitted . In my opinion these are one of the best Mauser style rifles ever made , Small ring with controlled round feed , 98 extractor . Very smooth action drilled and tapped - take Talley steel bases .
