Mauser Standard Model 98, manufactured circa 1933, marked Mauserwerke A-G Oberndorf A/N with a good clear Mauser Banner stamp on the receiver bridge. This is a classic Sportco sporter made in the late 1960’s/early 70’s with a factory modified bolt handle, medium weight 270 Win barrel, Williams style front/rear open sights, drilled and tapped for Weaver ‘scope bases. Retains the original Mauser wing safety, milled trigger guard and magazine. The bolt and receiver are in good condition, little wear except to bluing on bearing surfaces, the bolt face is good – no erosion or primer cutting. The Sportco factory barrel is in better than good condition, at least 5/10, strong shiny 5 groove rifling, very light erosion to leade, muzzle crown is sharp and undamaged. There are a couple of wear/scuff/scrape marks to the barrel blueing, The sporter stock is in very good condition, a new Pachmayer recoil pad has been fitted, there are a few very minor scuffs and scratch marks on the butt stock, otherwise a nice stock. Overall this rifle presents with some very minor cosmetic handling and usage marks, otherwise it appears to have had only moderate use. Comes with ~40 or 50x Norma unprimed cases and a near full box of .150 grain Hornady SST projectiles. Serial No 93043, NFID F00002971.
