A true period piece, this Brno Model 1 wears a Kahles Helia S2 4x scope. The rifle is the less common carbine-length version with handy 18-inch barrel. The action and trigger feel slick and crisp, like new. The rifle came in with a light coat of clean oil on it. The barrel and action have good bluing and none of the light corrosion you often see on firearms this age, so the Brno has obviously been well looked after throughout its life. The bore is tiny and clean. The magazine spring is strong. The scope has been refurbished at some point and has nice, clear optics. The only things missing are the rear sight and the hood for the front sight. The walnut stock is in good condition with only very minor marks except for a chip off the heel of the butt; the clear coat and butt plate are damaged as a result but not the timber itself. This is a very good example of a Brno Model 1 carbine, especially with this scope, and will be a great shooter if that’s what you want or it can be put in a collection for preservation or restoration to immaculate condition.
