Lithgow No I Mk III SMLE, 303. This is a matching number rifle: action, bolt and nose cone; only the rear sight is different. It is in very good condition overall. Made in 1940, it was re-furbished after the war with a 1953-dated H barrel, which is a 7/10 in the bore: a bit dark but it appears quite shootable. The rifle has had an armourer’s repair to the stock just to the right of the receiver, which is very neatly done, and at some point the butt stock has been replaced. Comes with jungle-green sling in very good condition. Overall, this WWII-era Lithgow is complete and largely original, and as such is very well priced.
