*OPEN TO OFFERS* Chinese contract Mauser rifle made by Mauser-Werke A.G. Oberndorf am Neckar. Made for Chiang Kai-shek's National Revolutionary Army. This rifle has the genuine Mauser banner on its receiver, as well as white sun emblem of the Kuomintang/Republic of China on its barrel and receiver as proof-marks. According to the serial number prefix, this rifle was part of an order placed in 1939 by the Chinese Central Bank through German importer Siemssen & Co. of Shanghai after Nazi Germany's official trade embargo against China, and as such was part of the the last group of rifles to be delivered to China before the Second World War began. Non-matching bolt and floor plate as is standard for Chinese Mausers, but the barrel and receiver both match with the Nationalist proof marks and the rifle has no import markings meaning it was likely sold directly from Chinese military storage or was brought here in the Korean/Vietnam Wars. Bore is excellent, action is beautifully smooth. First genuine Mauser-made Chinese Mauser I have ever seen in the flesh, and possibly one of the only ones in Australia.
