Are you looking for a complete Mauser for your collection, or a military surplus rifle that won't let you down in terms of accuracy & reliability? Then look no further than this very good example of a 98/22 Czech Mauser (Turkish Contract). I have owned this Czech Mauser for about only 8 months and has been one of my go to rifles for accuracy. Unfortunately, as much as this is a regretful sale, I'm planning on getting into the 22lr market and as so won't be using this as often as I'd like to. The rifling is crisp and the barrel presents extremely well as I've cleaned this rifle after every range session with a foaming bore cleaner and a little G96 sprayed into the barrel and over all metal components for that extra shine & protection. The fella I bought this off had it sitting in a safe with a dehumidifier inside (same with mine) so the rifle has none if very little trace of rust and no pitting whatsoever. Let's say the metal presents beautifully! The woodwork is in very good condition, not a lot of knocks and dings for it's age. There is however a little chip on the top hand guard just infront of the rear barrel band. It doesn't cause any issues at all. (Can provide photo). This is a Turkish contract Czech mauser so the bolt has the crescent moon stamped on it, same with a few other parts here and there. This rifle luckily enough also comes with an original cleaning rod and a reproduction period correct sling. This rifle performs well commercial 8x57 (8mm Mauser) ammo. However, runs excellent with hand loads.
