FN Supreme Commercial 98 short action chambered in the Super rare '22 Varminter' , one of the oldest of the 22 High Velocity cartridges capable of 3400 fps and preceded the 22-250 by 25 years. This rifle was built by William Marden snr in the early 1950's with a 25inch HB 1:14 twist barrel. Handloads are made with slightly shortened 22-250 dies to allow for a variance in the shoulder. Rifle has a unique 2 spring adjustable Mauser Target trigger most likely a special order. Barrel is mint and shiny and the rifle shoots very small groups as expected. This rifle represents one of the earliest HB Mauser built by 1 of Australia's best gunsmiths W Marden Snr. Australian made timber Varmint stock with glass bedding. A piece of Australian history.
