Comment: Steyr 1893 Mannlicher in 6.5x53R calibre. Note: This is actually a 6.5x53R, which is the rimmed version of the 6.5x54 MS, but this website does not recognize that calibre. On the barrel it is marked "Shot and Sighted by Holland & Holland, 98 New Bond Street, London." This is a nice, classic rifle in good condition. Blueing is good, stock has some dings and marks but only what you would expect from a rifle of this age that has been used for hunting. The bore is reasonable with the rifling slightly rounded off but I would rate it as a 6 out of 10 and should still shoot well, with the correct projectiles for this calibre. Rifle is fitted with a lovely, tang-mounted aperture sight with two sized apertures; a small aperture that folds in and out of the larger one. This is a very reluctant sale but reasonable offers will be considered.
