Rare model 25 made between 1922-1937, only around 30000 made worldwide, this particular rifle was surrendered to the army during world war 2 under the Australian wartime national securities act and faintly bears the markings on the stock:- d^d (defence department) 2 ( 2nd military district which is NSW) and the rack number 314. It is also fitted with an Australian made field scope model 275-s in unknown condition, but is professionally installed maybe by the Army? It also has a period stock repair using a brass tag from an electrical appliance. Overall a bit rough around the edges but considering the history a very interesting rifle.
