Stephen Grant & Sons 1891 12G SxS 28” Barrels This gun is high quality Stephen Grant 9 Pin Side lock, which has been refurbished in the mid 1990s, evidenced by the London Proof House marks and the LP97 stamps. The 28” Steel chopper lump type barrels are sleeved and proofed to 850 bar ( Standard Steel Shot) with 70mm chambers,1/4 & 1/2 choke, bores are bright & shiny no signs of corrosion. The original concave rib is engraved with “Patent Ejector”and the “Stephen Grant & Sons 67A St James’s Street London” with the number “1” inlayed in gold. The action is beautifully casehardened with full coverage acanthus scroll engraving, sculpted fences, "Stephen Grant & Sons" engraved on the side locks. Double Trigger, Selective Ejectors with Auto Safety( pin in gun case) and disc set strikers with spares. Weight 7 1/2 pounds ( 3.6kg) Straight grip stock checkered in point pattern with engraved steel heel and toe plates. LOP 14 5/8 (373mm) DAC 1 5/8 (42mm)DAH 2 1/8 (54mm) The stock appears to have been replaced new when gun refurbished. Checkering and finish in good condition as pictured.Splinter fore-end checkering in good condition. The gun locks up tight with no movement, mechanics are crisp, some small blemishes on barrels above splinter fore-end and on the rib. Comes with Leather case as pictured with “Stephan Grant” oil bottle & cleaning accessories.
