Here is a unique Lithgow built No1 Mk111. The rifle was initially manufactured at Lithgow in 1920, has matching numbers on the action, bolt, nosecap and butt. According to the markings on the rifle it was refurbished at Lithgow in Nov 1944 where a new heavy barrel dated 6/32 was fitted. The barrel is British but carries the early Lithgow inspection marks confirming it was fitted as part of the refurb. It appears that Lithgow imported British barrels during the period 1931 - 1933 as there was no production at the Lithgow factory during this time. The bore is in excellent condition.and the rifle is marked to show it was sold from service post WW2.
