This is an original Lithgow rifle built in 1918. Markings show that it was refurbished at Lithgow in 1924 where an Enfield replacement stock was fitted, and again in 1945 where a new 1945 barrel was fitted together with a new rear sight and new metal fittings - all show original markings. New forend woodwork dated 1945 was also fitted during refurbishment. The bore is excellent making this rifle ideal as a shooter or for the collector looking for a genuine piece of Australian military history. Reciever and bolt are matching
