For sale is this classic bring back Gewehr 98 Dated 1916 made at Waffenfabrik Mauser A-G Oberndorf A/N. This Gew98 is a great representation of a mid war production rifle made at the Mauser factory itself. Action is tight and the rifling is strong. The rifle itself is all matching however the bolt is not matching to the rifle. Comes with a very good condition original post war sling (did not come on the rifle when I originally purchased it). The stock and hand guard are in very good overall condition with original finish, each piece numbered and matching to the rifle. The receiver and bolt are still in the white as they left the factory (it does have some staining due to age) and the bluing is original and strong. Roller coaster rear sight has smooth full range of movement and individual click adjustment. This rifle was stored in a shipping container for many years before I purchased it leading to some pitting under the stock line (not major or too deep, message for photos) and some minor corrosion on the stock id disk, stock cross bolt and butt plate. I am almost certain that this rifle is a bring back from WW1 due to the well performed duffel cut (on forward section of stock) which today is strong and its mismatched bolt, both adding to the history of this rifle. Overall this 106 year old German WW1 workhorse is in great condition and ready for the range or personal collection.
