This is an 8mm Amberg Mauser Gew 98, made in 1917. There is an M under an Imp Crown on th e butt (Marine) and N on the stacking ring. The sight is a tangent sight fitted probably post WWI as it is marked S/42G. Bore dark but rifling present.
