This original Japanese matchlock musket has an octagonal barrel with extensive Japanese signage engraved on the three lower flats of the barrel and dated to 1816-17. It has a brass snapping lock and a hinged brass cover to the pan, original timber ramrod and sundry brass fittings including the trigger ball.
