Bare rifle. Sako L46 .222 Rem Varmint, Serial No 48766, Bofors marked barrel 12 land bore (Sako’s version of ‘micro groove’), very little use and mostly at the range. The gun is in excellent external condition, a few little marks; for its’ age it’s in ‘collector grade’ condition. The bore is very good, bolt and bolt face look almost unused. Copy of Sako factory records included, rifle inspected for shipping 12/4/1961. The rifle has full length bedding of the fore-end (typical 60’s bedding method).

When new the barrel on this rifle had a slight step down milled on the top to accommodate a large objective scope in the highest Sako factory rings. It was originally fitted with a Pecar Berlin 8x43 scope; the scope was stolen whilst the rifle was in a gun shop, and I fitted a spare Tasco (a period Khales or Pecar scope would look brilliant if intended to use as showpiece).
