The versatile 7X57 calibre is well suited to hunting Australian game, with factory ammunition and reloading components being produced by a number of manufacturers and available off-the-shelf by stockists. The legendary African elephant hunter ' Karamojo ' Bell recorded 1,011 elephants taken with the same calibre rifle, yet it is comfortable to shoot and extremely accurate. A small number of manufacturers continue to chamber this popular calibre in their current rifle line-up offerings today and used rifles are much sought after by fans of the 7x57.
