A fantastic piece of WWII-era Smith & Wesson history, presented in remarkably good original condition for its age.
The Smith & Wesson Victory Model was the wartime version of the company’s Military & Police revolver. Produced in huge numbers during the Second World War, the model received its distinctive “V” serial number prefix for Victory.
This example, serial V384672, dates to approximately 1943 and is the .38 S&W configuration produced in large numbers for British and Commonwealth wartime requirements.
It features the characteristic 5″ barrel, fixed sights, six-shot cylinder and military lanyard loop. The barrel remains clearly marked “.38 S&W CTG”, while the frame carries the classic Smith & Wesson trademark and “Made in U.S.A.” markings.
The revolver remains in very good original condition for its age, retaining its wartime finish with general handling and age-related wear. Importantly, the various factory markings remain crisp and well defined.
At more than 80 years old, this is a great example of Smith & Wesson’s wartime production and an interesting addition to a military or historical firearm collection.
