A very cool piece of Spanish firearms history.

Manufactured by Bonifacio Echeverria S.A. in Eibar, Spain, the Star Model B is essentially a Spanish take on the iconic Colt 1911, retaining that unmistakable full size, all steel 1911 appearance while being chambered in 9mm.

This particular example carries the Spanish P proof date code, dating it to 1945 – making it more than 80 years old.

While heavily based on the Colt 1911 in both appearance and design, the Model B isn't an exact clone. Star made a number of changes to the design, most noticeably doing away with the traditional 1911 grip safety.

This one certainly shows some honest age and use, but that's part of the appeal. It's an interesting old pistol from a manufacturer and era that you simply don't see every day.

A great option for the collector who appreciates classic styling, old-school all-steel construction and the unmistakable look of the Colt 1911.
