Comment: Custom "English" style stock for the ever-popular Sako Vixen L461 action, in good used condition.

Made by the late, great, Geoff Slee in 1979, and cut by hand. This stock pre-dates Geoff's use of a duplicator. Examples of hand work by Geoff are extremely rare and quite lovely. Typical of Geoff's work of that time, at a level rarely seen in his machined stock customs - and matched by few other custom makers.

Nicely laid out root boule walnut with horn tip and grip cap. Nice and slim. Action is pillar bedded, barrel inlet to suit a floated barrel. Checkering is a fantastic point pattern which wraps around both the grip and forend, with parting line to top of grip and double-line borders. Original high quality red recoil pad that shows very little degrade. Hand rubbed finish is original and intact, bearing the usual tiny handling marks from field use prevent it from being listed as excellent. This custom stock has seen off nearly 50 years. Once fitted up to a suitable L461, it will see of many more decades of use.
