For sale to licensed collectors is an exceptionally rare, historically significant deactivated Soviet AVT-40 select-fire rifle, manufactured in 1943. Unlike the vast majority of Tokarev variants on the Australian market, this piece is in original, non-post-war refurbished condition. It retains its genuine wartime character without the typical heavy post-war arsenal re-bluing or forced-matched electric pencil markings.
Important Note on Completeness: This rifle is being sold without a magazine. The price has been heavily adjusted downward to reflect this, making it an incredible opportunity for a collector who owns a spare SVT/AVT magazine or wishes to source one.
Correct AVT Provenance & Specifications:
Wartime Gas Block: Features the correct, larger AVT-specific gas regulator ports, distinct from standard SVT-40 production.
Factory-Matched 'A' Stock: The original stock is explicitly stamped and dated 1944, featuring the highly desirable "A" (Avtomaticheskiy) acceptance stamp. This stands as a fascinating, documented example of late-war factory assembly where a new-production AVT stock was factory-numbered to match the 1943 receiver.
AVT Architecture: The stock features the correct, thicker wrist configuration and the distinct dual-notch safety/selector cutout.
Serial Numbers: All original matching stamps throughout. No post-war arsenal force-matching.
Finish: Original wartime finish showing honest field wear and a genuine, aged patina.
Deactivation Status: Fully deactivated to Australian standards. Must be transferred via a Licensed Firearms Dealer (LFD).
