Comment: No1 Mk III Lithgow SMLE .303 manufactured in 1944. The serial number on the bolt, action & nose cap all match. The butt has 1945 stamped on it. This rifle is a really nice genuine example of a Lithgow 303 with no modifications. The timber is in excellent condition with only a few minor dents. The rifling is deep, however there is some shallow pitting on the lands, probably due to corrosive ammo being used long ago. I've kept it oiled in my safe for decades & have only fired it a few times. The original pull through cleaning cord & oil bottle are stored in the butt.
