Here we have a nice original Tokyo/Kokura Arsenal production type 38 Arisaka.
The rifle presents in an overall good condition, the metal work is in pretty good for the most part and maintains about 92% of its original bluing with the usual scattered pepper pitting observed on most Arisakas. The Mum has been ground but all other markings are present.
The action is tight and functions quite smoothly and is clean and free from any rust. Moving on to the barrel, the barrel is in very good condition for the age and background. The lands are somewhat worn but shiny for the most part and has no pitting or rusting whatsoever, which I would regard as uncommon for these rifle. I have personally only put 8rds through this rifle to test it and I found it was pretty accurate and extremely pleasant to shoot.
The wood is in fair condition and the stock itself is pretty solid however unfortunately the top wood has trouble staying on due to being significantly worn where the barrel band would secure it and would require some restoration work to fix or just a straight replacement thus has been taken into consideration when it comes to the price.
The rifle also comes with the original dust cover as well as 3pks of extremely scarce Norma factory ammo (PICK UP ONLY) and approximately 50 new PPU and 9 once fired brass (very hard to actually find in Australia)
All in all that is a very interesting piece of history for a great price; this would suit collectors budding and experienced alike or a great one for the mil surp comp shooter.
