Here we have a beautiful Original French Model 1892 St. Étienne Berthier Carbine. 

 If only this rifle could speak... The rifle presents in very good condition for its age, the action is exceptionally smooth, and everything functions as intended 130 years ago. There is no rust anywhere and the barrel is in good condition and has expected wear though i would consider the bore to be above expected condition for its age. The bolt face is in excellent condition and is clean and without any pitting. The original carbine sights function perfectly. Moving to the wood it most certainly would have an absolutely amazing story to tell however it has seen better days due to the various bumps and bruises and on the left side are some stock repairs. Everything but the bolt on this rifle is matching as well as the stock itself which is also eloquently numbered and matching which gives it a very French finish to this already exorbitantly French rifle...  

The Berthier design was introduced as a replacement for the various aging Mle 1874 Gras single-shot carbines. These rifles were used right up until WW2, especially during the later stages of the war by both French soldiers and particularly French resistance fighters. 

2x original 3rd clips and 20x brand new Bertram brass also included.
