Lovely dk brown polymer stock with black spiderweb pattern which adds texture for grip.
Lovely weight. 4 scope base screws, 2 position safety. I have owned 3 R700's and this is by far the nicest weight one. The stock is much nicer than the black one they offer now. Very stiff right to the fore end. I would definitely put a Zero-Tech Vengence 6-24 x 50 for $599 (698g) on this puppy.
300WM is a time proven cartridge, will not be anything in Australia that will walk away! This is a lovely gun you can walk all day up and down the high country no worries. All solidly anchored within a high-performance Grayboe stock, it delivers the ultimate in strength, precision and all weather durability. Do not buy 20" magnums, you lose so much and have terrible burn ratios which is terrible for barrel life and cleaning.... even 24" is the least you want to go while keeping light weight for hunting. Grayboe stocks feature an integral aluminum pillar bedding system that prevents the action screws from crushing the stock material and ensures a solid foundation for the barreled action without the need for custom epoxy work.
I just thought about price after 12hrs on this site and reduced to $1250, this is now an awesome price for this stunning quality gun. They were almost 2k in America when new. That is like $2800Au.
