This unique and beautifully built rifle was manufactured in 1935 and modified for police use through the addition of a high capacity custom built fifteen round magazine. The magazine was hand built by the Peace Officer Equipment Company of St Joseph Missouri, individually fitted and serial number matched to the rifle. The rifle is clearly marked "Kansas City Mo. Police Dept". The Remington Model 8 was the first of the US made self loading rifles and was a John Browning design. The rifles were originally designed for hunting but were very attractive to the Police and FBI. This rifle is in exceptional condition, has an excellent bore and cycles perfectly. A number of these Model 8 rifles were used by police during the famous ambush of gangsters Bonnie and Clyde in the 1930s.
