S.A. percussion revolver: 44 cal; 6 shot cylinder; 7 ½” (192mm) barrel; small patch of surface oxidation scale has developed in bore, otherwise in fine cond, mirror internally with crisp rifling; soft brown patina to majority of metalwork, some traces of original blued finish remain in protected areas; lhs flat of barrels octagonal section marked two-line ALLEN & WHEELOCK. WORCHESTER. MASS. U.S. over LEN'S PT'S. JAN.13.DEC.15.1857.SEPT.7.18. address, markings are crisp but has been a factory double stamp; serial no. 34 marked to lhs of frame under grips, rh grip internally, cylinder, loading lever & axis pin; mechanically in fine cond., crisp cylinder indexing & sear, strong springs; distinctive loading lever doubles as trigger guard, operates smoothly; nipples in vg. cond; g. screw heads; blade front sight dovetailed to barrel, v notch rear sight to nose of hammer; smooth walnut grips with patchy varnish finish, some handling marks; lh grip with subtle repaired section; overall in exc. wo & g. to vg. cond. #34 Pre 1900
