RARE ANTIQUE RIFLE FOR THE ENTHUSIAST - NO PTA OR LICENCE TO POSSESS IN NSW.
Here is the mighty black powder Vetterli repeater, the most advanced military rifle in the world when rushed into service to ward off the Prussians in 1869, years ahead of the single-shot Martini-Henry. It fired the anaemic .41 Swiss rimfire round with sub-.44 Magnum ballistics out to 1200 metres! This is a late-production example of the major M1881 upgrade, lots of factory markings and possibly never issued, sight extension to 1600 metres. It has a simple CENTREFIRE CONVERSION to the matching bolt, see YouTube, may need a little more work on the firing pin fit.
In NSW, you can shoot it on a Category B Firearms Licence. It uses cases fire-formed from 8mm Lebel PPU brass - load up with BP or Trail Boss and heavy .429" lead pistol bullets and you are good to go. You get:
The huge rifle, firing pin adapters and bolt removal tool (you will need a mallet!).
80 x fireformed 10.4 x 38mm cases, ready to prime, load and shoot.
A custom 10.4mm neck expander plug for converting 8mm Lebel.
A further 50 x 8mm Lebel once-fired PPU cases, ready for forming.
