Comment: Sako 85 Stainless Synthetic Short action 308W with 20" barrel with Optilock 30mm rings, standard 5 round double stack mag and aftermarket 10 round mag.
The rifle now sits in a brand new Kroseg Precision/Hardy "Sako Competition" carbon fibre stock with adjustable cheek piece, arca rail located for shooting from tripod, flush cups, and pic rail for front bipod mount. This stock alone cost AUD$2,600.
Anyone who knows Sako, know they are brilliant rifles (a guicci tikka), having owned since new in 2018 this has been by far my favourate rifle. I have put approx 1,000 - 1,200 rounds through it and have never had a malfuction. A good barrel on a 308 typicallly has 5,000 to 8,000 rounds before showing any degredation in accuracy so this rifle still will last a lifetime for the average hunter. The rifle has always been cleaned after use before being put back in the safe. With the new stock this is the perfect set up for stalking during the day, and/or using thermal/night vision and shooting standing using a tripod. The price is to motivate a quick sale as I am upgrading to a Sako 90 in the very near future. For anyone wanting a Sako in 308 that has been well looked after this may be of interest. I should note that I've had high end scopes on it the entire life (Swaro, GPO, and Steiner) that I still own so its always been treated with 'kid gloves' as there is a lot of money invested in it.
