A most unusual little 22LR Single Shot Boys Rifle made by H.M Quackenbush of Herkimer, New York. This firearm fires from the open bolt and is loaded by way of sliding the bolt around to the right and back again once the round is loaded into the breech. Our research indicates it retains its original all nickel finish, though worn down, and was likely manufactured between 1893 to 1920.
Like most Single Shot 22's of this vintage, the bore has pretty well been obliterated. No rifling is visible and pitting flows throughout. Therefore, this firearm is ideal for parts only or for the collector not too worried about condition.
