The Savage No. 4 Mk I is an American-made variant of the British Lee-Enfield No. 4 Mk I bolt-action rifle, produced by Savage Arms during World War II as part of the Lend-Lease program. Chambered in .303 British, it features a 10-round detachable magazine, rear aperture sight, and the signature Enfield rear-locking bolt system known for fast cycling and rugged reliability. Marked with a "U.S. PROPERTY" stamp, these rifles were primarily supplied to British and Commonwealth forces. Though mechanically identical to British-made No. 4s, Savage rifles are distinguished by their "S" prefix serial numbers and excellent wartime craftsmanship.
