For sale is the pictured WW2 1942 Australian 4.2 inch training mortar set (commonly known as a slipper mortar). Set is as pictured with slipper barrel, baseplate and 1942 dated tripod. This is a rare opportunity to own a piece of WW2 artillery (training). These were wartime built for purpose training tubes and cannot be and never have been live fire barrels. Manufactured with the bottom portion removed to enable the mortar to “slip” out of the tube during exercise for repetitive firing training. Not registrable in Vic as it is classified as an imitation firearm due to it not being manufactured as a real firearm or ever having been a firing Category E Mortar tube (unlike a deactivated cat E mortar). Note these are manufactured without a “bell” which is the receiver of a mortar (receives the barrel and firing mechanism of the mortar). Please check you own states regulations regarding artillery pieces. Pick up is from Keilor East (Melbourne). Text and phone call enquiries preferred. Held under a Chief Commissioners Approval for imitation firearms in Vic (753-723-40W). Can be owned in Vic with a GIC Exempt Club membership. I can assist with loading it into a trailer or putting it on a pallet for interstate transport should the buyer want to organise freight.
