This is a serious collector’s rifle, in mint condition, complete, unissued and unfired. Matching numbers throughout, and sharp stampings. Finely machined and finished, exhibiting 99%+ of its original blueing, with light handling marks and minor wear consistent with age (and two stock bruises from historic handling). Light stencil “F” on safety to meet import requirements. Carefully crafted original walnut woodwork, which has not been treated, sanded, oiled or stained. Includes original cleaning rod and matching bayonet issued with the rifle. Portuguese crest on 1941 marked receiver and stock, exhibiting crisp proof markings and WaA “eagle/135” on receiver and stock. Cupped butt-plate marked ‘brg” and WaA “eagle/497” (HW Schmidt, Metallwarenfabrik, Sachsen). These rifles were held in reserve in Germany during WW2 for possible issue to troops, having been released from storage post-WW2 preserved in cosmoline. It is very rare to see an unissued K98k in Australia as most were shipped to Canada and the US after the war. This unique example has come straight from the Mauser factory via a private collection where it was carefully stored for almost 40 years.
Email:-enfieldarmoury@gmail.com
Buyer to pay postage

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0877/6282/9627/files/298a74ce-a839-4590-bf67-cfe1b1a3b687.jpg?v=1792493153
