Comment: This is a good condition Series 24, Kokura Arsenal, Type 38 with chrysanthemum intact. The rifle hollistically shows signs of long-term storage without proper care - the wood work is in good condition with dents and scratches as expected from a battlefield pick up, but does have a crack visible on the left-side buttstock. The RHS buttstock has minimal signs of wear, while the buttplate is loose but intact and functional. The metal work on the receiver is in very good condition, markings are clear and eligable. The barrel surface is slightly pitted towards the top handguard cover and the front sling swivel is loose, but still attached and functional. Despite the condition, the bore is 7-8/10 and the rifle is perfectly functional which will do well as a shooter. The front sight, sight protectors and the ladder rear sight are intact and still functioning perfectly. Much of the rifle still retains original packing grease, especially around the handguards, magazine and trigger mechanism. All in all, the rifle is suitable to both the collector and the shooter.
