Comment: Rarely seen Israeli 1919 Lithgow manufactured SMLE No1 mark 3 still chambered in 303, matching bolt and receiver, star of Davide and hebrew letter acceptance stamps on receiver, good timber work with one gauge near the grip and only minor wear, metal work is good with no major rust or pitting, barrel and rifling is good with plenty left, missing stock disc, rifle is mismatched which is the standard for early Israeli used rifles. Without the proper research it is difficult to tell when this rifle made its way to the Middle East, the last Australian troops left Palestine in September 1919 after the capture of Damascus and WW1 ended so was it left there in a British arsenal? or was it pulled back into service during WW2 like many were and saw service in the battle for North Africa and some how made its way into the hands of the British after the Australians left for the fight in the South pacific ? As Australia did not supply Israel with weapons after the end of WW2 in my opinion one of the two above scenarios is the most likely. Price includes shipping to your local dealer excluding WA.
