Comment: Cased. Near new condition, Musgrave made Anglo-Boer War Commemorative Mauser bolt action Plezier rifle, commissioned by the War Museum of Boer Republics. This is one of 10 different rifles made to commemorate 10 various battles of the Anglo Boer war. No two are the same. Truly RARE. Made in 1986 as per the date on the barrel. Serial number for this rifle is “03” in calibre 7x57; 28inch tapered octagonal barrel; near new bore; wedge mounted and key adjustable blade front sight, tangent rear sight with graduations to 1100m; blue/black finish to metal. Floor plate, trigger guard, action and barrel ends are profusely engraved with foliate & acanthus design, with elaborate border gold inlay. Anglo Boreoorlog 333 (1899-1902) Gedenkmauser inlaid in gold to barrel ; also to barrel N.R. ABO-03 CAL 7mm Mauser Musgrave Vervaardigers Bloemfontein 1986; action rail Mod Mauser 1896 Ludw Loewe & Co Berlin inlaid in gold; floor plate with Stormberg 10 December 1899 with medallion engraved Vryheid Immigratie also in gold. Bolt head and handle engraved in the same style, also with elaborate gold inlay; beautiful wood stocked in the typical Plezier 96 style; steel butt plate similarly engraved & gold inlaid.
